  When Blade Runner meets Ghost in the Shell Lol well at least you can't criticize the script in this one, it's simple there isn't any. In a futuristic dystopia where there's human trafficking, there are people investigating and then it gets blurry. Clearly over the top by going all the way with his craziness we find ourselves in improbable battles with women in mini shorts breaking asses while using up their energy like the Duracell bunny. The cyber punk aesthetic and badass soundtrack make this film even more entertaining.

  An extra half star for the opening scene where a dude straight out of The Matrix tries to kill a monster with his lollipop.

  Low-budget, straight-to-streaming Chinese action film that is currently available Stateside via the HI-YAH! channel with some highly dubious English subtitles, meaning if you put a gun to my head I'm still not sure I could make heads or tails of this plot involving 'gene induction fluid' and some kind of mutant fighting tournament called the Battle of Tomorrow. Luckily...it doesn't really matter if you're just here to enjoy some digitally-assisted fights between super-powered characters in a quasi-"Blade Runner" setting. (So, yes, if you're looking for straight-ahead martial arts in the "Ip Man" vein, be advised the action here is closer in spirit to something like an "X-Men" movie or one of the "Resident Evil" flicks in which Milla Jovovich had…

  Chinesischer SciFi Film aus dem Jahr 2022.
  Auf diesen Film war ich ein wenig gespannt, da mir das was im Vorfeld darüber wuste mich angesprochen hat.
  Zuerst fällt einem die doch kurze Laufzeit von 72 Minuten auf. In dieser wird versucht irgendwie viel zu erzählen. Das gelingt nach meiner Meinung nicht so richtig. Die Handlung ist ein wenig "wirr" erzählt und Substanz los, den Informationen über das was jetzt ist und passiert wird einem stellenweise um die Ohren "gehauen". Zu viel Input in zu kurzer Zeit.

  I don’t recognize anyone involved in the production of Mutant Ghost Wargirl, but the title alone, along with the brief clip of one of the film’s fights that @TimesSqKungFu posted, convinced me to give it a chance. I even went ahead and finally subscribed to the Hi-Yah! streaming service in order to watch it, something I’ve avoided for years largely because, unlike Mutant Ghost Wargirl, “Hi-Yah!” is an extremely stupid title. I’m not sorry I did, because Mutant Ghost Wargirl delivers exactly what its title promises.

  变种人：幽灵战姬 delivers a story you can barely follow and don't want to, acting performances from the cesspool and Resident Evil memory monsters that, thanks to bad CGI effects, looked worse than in any of the video games in the aforementioned series. Still, the film makes more of its barely-there budget than initially expected. The film borrows heavily from the anime, but also from the live-action film adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. Blade Runner might also have been a logical model here. There are some really absurd scenes, but also some entertainment. Not really bad, but also not more than you can expect from one of these typical Chinese 70-minute streaming productions.

  I've seen my share of bad money laundering feeling Chinese blockbusters, but you know what, for a movie that is exactly that this one was actually kind of entertaining. It's bafflingly obsessed with ripping off weirdly specific bits of western pop culture, from Jared Leto's Joker (yes.) to 2017's adaptation of Ghost in the Shell (the final scene doesn't even try), but for a movie that is so textually derivative it is also shockingly visually confident and creative - there's certainly more life in the imagery here than in a lot of the American superhero trash.   Wieder einer dieser billigen chinesischen Filme, die zeigen, was man mit wenig Mitteln alles machen kann. Man gibt uns die volle Ladung an CGI-Effekten. Die Handlung ist irgendwo zwischen Cyberpunk 2077, Blade Runner, Resident Evil und Ghost in the Shell angesiedelt. Das merkt man auch deutlich am Soundtrack.

  Optisch sieht man Mutant Ghost Wargirl nur an wenigen Stellen an, dass es sich um eine kleine Produktion handelt. Die Action setzt viel auf CGI und trotzdem gibt es coole Kamerafahrten und ein paar Martial Arts Einlagen,

  Die Show stiehlt Zeng Youzhen als Angela, sie sieht aus wie so ein typisches japanisches Idol und sticht so heraus und auch der Charakter hat es in sich.

  MUTANT GHOST WARGIRL bedient sich neben X-MEN vor allem aus zahlreichen Cyberpunk-Filmen und -Anime…dabei aber genau den Richtigen. Stylisch, cool, sexy und wild rast der Streifen von der ersten Minute an mit Vollgas durch seine wundervoll knackige Laufzeit und weiß dabei perfekt zu unterhalten und mit Eye-Candy zu punkten. Für Fans des Genres auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung.
